History

Where it comes from

The facility grew out of the municipal indoor pool of Poprad, which operated from 1985 to 2003; as a modern water park, AquaCity Poprad was officially opened on 4 July 2004. The resort earned international renown for its ecological model of operation - drawing energy from geothermal water and solar collectors - for which it received the World Travel Awards title of "World's Leading Green Resort" in 2007 and 2008.
