Termy Bukovina was launched by a company founded from the ground up - the Bukowina Geothermal Society, set up by residents of Bukowina Tatrzańska in the early 2000s (the company was established around 2001-2002). The venture aimed to make use of local geothermal water resources, support local entrepreneurship, and grow tourism in this part of Podhale. The thermal pool complex opened in 2008 and quickly became Bukowina's biggest attraction and one of the region's more important employers. In subsequent years the facility was expanded - including a wellness zone (2010) and a hotel section as part of BUKOVINA Resort.
